gm
I never understood why people tweet ‘gm’ instead of typing out two words.. ‘good morning’. Are we so lazy that we cannot type out good morning anymore and we have to abbreviate it down to TWO LETTERS? Do we have to pay for each character we tweet, so now we have to consider hacking down unnecessary letters to cut costs? These questions are silly and obviously untrue and I still could not wrap my head around why gm tweets make their way around to my dashboard everyday.
Strangely enough, I started thinking about using gm instead of good morning when I am sending messages to my friends. Strangely enough, I thought about starting a work email with:
gm Alice,
Hope you are well.
Strangely enough, using these two simple letters make you feel like you are a part of an invisible gm global community. Strangely enough, here I am using it to start my first post on substack. And the strangest part of this whole post, is that thoughts are being poured onto this blank page filled with opportunities.
And I can’t wait to share them with you.
Until next time!
